NPR segment on animal cognition
In the summer of 2010, I volunteered as an intern on the Patt Morrison Show, the weekday interview-talk program that ran on KPCC, the NPR affiliate in Los Angeles.
I worked with producers, audio engineers, paid interns, and Morrison herself as they produced the daily, two-hour show. At the end of my internship, I had the opportunity to pitch segment ideas to the team. They loved my pitch about a TIME Magazine cover story on animal cognition. Over one week, I contacted TIME senior writer Jeffrey Kluger, scientists and researchers, booked guests, researched new developments in animal cognition, and drafted questions for the segment.
The 20-minute segment aired on August 13, 2010. You can listen to the episode on the right.
